Deirdre Friebely is the creator behind In Curious Company.

She paints, cuts, rips, and glues the curious and often comical nature of everyday life into mixed media works on paper. Favorite motifs are also pulled from the canvas to explore dimensional forms in wood. Her images are often accompanied by found text and hand written micro poetry.

The work is rooted in belonging and the special relationships we are lucky to find in friends partners and family. She is often inspired by her childhood memories, and continues to draw inspiration from the lively mayhem of her own home as a mother of two teenage boys and wife to a merchant mariner. 

She lives and makes art in southern Maine.
